"Confirmation pedagogue" to Ballersbach
From 1582 to 1968, Herbornseelbach was (only) a branch of the "mother church" in Ballersbach. This also meant that for centuries, the parish services were provided from there. Confirmation students from Herbornseelbach had to travel to Ballersbach for their lessons, using a small footpath south of the millrace. After the construction of the railway, this path shifted to the south side of the ravine, which, after the railway's closure, is now used as a cycle path. Romantically winding up and down, it is still quite well preserved, especially in this section. Our association is working to maintain the accessibility of this small section and thus preserve the memory of this chapter in our village's history.
