Autumn Exhibition 2013 - "25 Years of the Spinning Room"

Since the opening of the local history museum in the old schoolhouse on February 6, 1988, a group of women from the local history society have met regularly every Tuesday for their "spinning circle." True to the motto "Preserve the old, embrace the new," they have been diligently spinning, knitting, making lace, crafting, cooking, and baking. The women of the spinning circle—which has been led by Gudrun Benner since its inception—have also always been active helpers at the history society's events, which in past years were considerably more elaborate and extensive than they are today. Of course, the women of the spinning circle have never neglected the social aspect, and so they have also organized outings, hikes, and celebrations whenever the occasion arises. Meanwhile, a new group has formed, focusing on "Old Recipes," under the leadership of Martina Schmid. Here, recipes from "Then and Now" are tested, and seasonal table decorations are crafted. The women presented a selection of their work and photos from the past 25 years, but the aforementioned coziness was also not neglected alongside the presentation.
