Annual General Meetings
Annual General Meeting 2025
Our annual general meeting on March 22nd went according to plan. Unfortunately, only a few members made their way to the "Old School" in Seelbach. Following the reports from the chairman and the secretary on the past year's club activities, the treasurer presented his financial report. The reports showed a stable club with active members and a healthy financial balance. This was confirmed by the auditors, allowing the members present to grant the board the requested discharge.
The attendees observed a minute of silence in memory of the four club members who sadly passed away last year. At the same time, the chairman was able to report on new members, so the membership remains stable at 121. Wilma Gräf, who was present, was honored this year for 25 years of club membership.
In this year's board elections, Eckhard Görzel (deputy chairman), Martin Henss (treasurer), Uwe Brand (3rd assessor) and Martina Schmid (4th assessor) were up for election and were confirmed in their previous positions by re-election.
This year's general meeting ended with a short discussion in which the members present could offer criticism and suggestions.
Immediately afterwards, Mr. Dietrich, the Dillenburg city historian, gave a presentation on 17th-century mining in the Schelderwald forest. The board and members present followed his very detailed and vivid report with great interest.
Annual General Meeting on March 16, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.
Deputy Chairman Eckhard Görzel welcomed numerous members to the annual general meeting.
After a minute of silence for the deceased member Armin Hanstein (he was a founding member in 1987), the corresponding formalities were carried out.
The deputy chairman apologized for the absence of several board members (due to vacation). Eckhard Görzel focused particularly on the events of the past year.
These included a village tour in August followed by an afternoon of baking and the village Advent celebration in November.
Unfortunately, the border walk had to be cancelled at the end of March due to the weather.
An exchange of ideas with the local history society of Ballersbach is also part of our association's work, as are the hikes with the gymnastics club. The local history society currently has 124 members.
The financial situation is very satisfactory, as auditors Anne Hertweck and Andreas Thielmann confirmed. Treasurer Martin Henß was commended for his excellent work, and the treasurer and the board were unanimously discharged from liability.
At the regularly scheduled board elections, Chairman Hans Benner, Secretary Christian Görzel, and board members Joachim Heimann and Michael Wurmlinger-Georg were unanimously re-elected. Rita Endres is a new addition to the board as a member-at-large.
Other board members (who were not up for election) are Martin Henss, Eckhard Görzel, Martina Schmid and Uwe Brandt.
Jörg Menger and Andreas Thielmann were elected as auditors.
Erhard Schulz was honored for 25 years of club loyalty. Unfortunately, he was unable to attend due to illness.
Following the very harmonious annual general meeting, Joachim Heimann provided information on various interesting local historical topics. A lively discussion and exchange of ideas rounded off the meeting.
